This fundraiser will help support a local non-profit focused specifically on families who are impacted by Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. The funding will go straight to providing free support groups and counseling. The more this facility grows, the faster this state will get to having it's first fully functional Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder clinic.

This online course covers the signs, symptoms and screening tools for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMAD). PMAD is a set of mood and anxiety disorders that can begin anytime during pregnancy or during the first year postpartum. Home visitors will learn the signs and symptoms as well as the risk factors for PMADs including medical risks, social stressors and high-stress parenting situations. The training includes how to screen using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), Patient Health Questionnaire-2 (PHQ-2) and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). Detailed information is provided on best practices for support, education and referral in both emergency and non-emergency situations. In addition to understanding the types of PMAD and prevention techniques, home visitors are reminded of the value of self-care and supervisory support.
